Sharon Merrill | MCC, Board Member

Sharon Merrill | Board Member, MCC

Sharon loves North Carolina, its beaches and the mountains. She has made her home here in the Triangle, since her graduate student days at Duke.  She is married to Ray, has four awesome adult children, and enjoys her three sweet grandchildren. She attributes her ability to give enjoyable experiences to her children to her network of support from friends. Sharon now works as a psychotherapist in Durham. She enjoys meeting new people and drinking coffee with friends. In additions to supporting TAPS, she serves in her church, studies Spanish and participates in a Spanish church community, and actively engages with a local psychoanalytic community.

Alison is a recent transplant to North Carolina from Boston and she understands how isolating early parenting can be, especially for families moving into the Triangle from out of state. She is passionate about helping families find non-judgmental spaces to figure out their individual parenting philosophies and believes that every parent needs a community. In her spare time, Alison enjoys spending time with her family and discovering the area.

After graduating from The University of Arizona in 2010, Kelsey moved to Raleigh with her family for a change of pace in 2012. Since then, she has joined the National Leadership team for her college music sorority, had a beautiful rainbow daughter, and became the proud owner of Oak City Doula Care. Her experience with TAPS inspired her to give back to the community of parents that navigates her through the journey of parenthood. When she's not volunteering her time with TAPS or the Sorority, she enjoys playing board games with her family, watching comedies on Netflix, and lounging with her cats.
